Road Closes for constuction
Road crew work on Cedar Lane Road Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014. Officials said the work required temporarily closing Cedar Lane Road at 12th Avenue SE between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Signs were placed to detour the traveling public around the construction using U.S. Highway 77 and State Highway 9.The Cedar Lane Road Widening Project is a $9.8 million street improvement project. When the project is completed, Cedar Lane Road will be widened to four lanes with 5-foot bike lanes adjacent to the curb, the intersection of 12th Avenue SE and Cedar Lane Road will be widened and signalized with dual left turn lanes from 12th Avenue SE onto eastbound Cedar Lane Road, the railroad at-grade crossing will become a quiet zone crossing, and 5-foot sidewalks will extend the length of the project on both sides of Cedar Lane Road. The Oklahoma Department of Transportation is administering the construction of the project on behalf of the City of Norman because federal transportation funds are involved in the project.
